FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Residents are invited to the Office of Community Safety’s (OCS) first quarterly update public meeting on Thursday, Nov. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Center East Recreation Center, 917 Washington Drive.

Over the past few months, OCS has immersed itself into the community partnering with nonprofit organizations and other agencies in the City focusing on community violence intervention, youth programming, behavioral health and homelessness response.

“We look forward to sharing the impact of our efforts and listening to the community’s priorities,” said Office of Community Safety Director John Jones. “We are building an innovative, collaborative public safety model, focused on prevention, care and coordination.”

Attendees can expect an update on OCS initiatives, a discussion of the department’s next steps and opportunities to interact with City staff. Community partners will also be in attendance for a resource fair offering information and support services.

OCS operates as a collaborative, solutions-focused connector, centering its work on care, coordination and prevention.
